ART! - It’s the first of the monnnnth

Thanks for joining us for our Friday art! We have a couple cool things today, including interesting new artists and a bunch of photo links. Also be sure to check out the beginner’s guide to escaping from Alcatraz.

The above work is by Salvador DalAA (come on people, get with it). The title is Gala Contemplating the Mediterranean Sea which at Twenty Meters becomes a Portrait of Abraham Lincoln which is definitely a mouthful and a half. It’s true though. And if you don’t believe me… look at the thumbnail.

That’s exactly what customs officials said to this dude when he tried to front and say his penis pump was a bomb.AA No he wasn’t a terrorist or evenAAmentally ill (well…).AA Apparently the reason he was lying was because he was on his way to Turkey with his ma’dukes and he didn’t want her to know he was carrying a penile aid.AA

I mean, I feel him on one level… you don’t want to get embarressed in front of your mom, no matter how small your wiwi.AA But on the other hand, you can’t just go saying somethings a bomb in an airport!AA At any rate, now he’s got a felony case.

Dumpster divers rejoice beware!AA Somebody is putting trippies in choco bars in Amsterdam and discarding them in trash cans near the airport!

THE HAGUE (AFP) - Police at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport has released a warning for hallucinogenic dark chocolate bars after a homeless man ate one and confused their uniforms with wedding dresses.

"He ate some and we found him hallucinating", mixing up police uniforms with wedding dresses, police spokesman Rob Stenacker told AFP on Thursday.

Police later found more chocolate bars on the ground and in airport dustbins.

"They were very likely bought in the Netherlands and abandoned at the airport by travellers who didn’t dare to take them on board (the plane)," Stenacker said.

Police warned the public to be careful if they found any abandoned dark chocolate: "Don’t eat it, you don’t know what’s in it. Imagine what would happen if a child ate it."

Imagine what would happen? He’d trip balls, that’s what.

Hybrid Mutant is Just a Dog (sigh)

And after all that hubub, the suspected hybrid farm-animal-killer is just a dog.AA Funny thing is, everybody in Turner, MaineAAwas running around talking about how this thing was like the next chupacabras and whatnot.AA Just for the record, I’m mad at the motorist who hit my dog and then tried to act like they were doing society a good deed by killing the mutant beast.AA Here’s an excerpt from the orginal story, which is now inaccesible, being as the info has been updated:

TURNER, Maine - Residents are wondering if an animal found dead over the weekend may be the mysterious creature that has mauled dogs, frightened residents and been the subject of local legend for half a generation.

The animal was found near power lines along Route 4 on Saturday, apparently struck by a car while chasing a cat. The carcass was photographed and inspected by several people who live in the area, but nobody is sure exactly what it is.

Michelle O’Donnell of Turner spotted the animal near her yard about a week before it was killed. She called it a "hybrid mutant of something."

"It was evil, evil looking. And it had a horrible stench I will never forget," she told the Sun Journal of Lewiston. "We locked eyes for a few seconds and then it took off. I’ve lived in Maine my whole life and I’ve never seen anything like it."

[Ed: Just for the record, How did this heffer not know it was a dog?AA Um, the "chasing a cat" part seems to be a dead giveaway. My ninja, please.]

My Ninja, Please! 8/17/06: Further Signs of Impending Apocalypse

One thing’s for damn sure… the world’s done gone crazy. Sri Lankan ninjas are killing eachother left and right already - but now they even got buddhist monks beefing over there. My Ninja, Please! I’m not making this up:

COLOMBO (Reuters) - Protesters calling for an end to recent violence in Sri Lanka found themselves brawling with hardline Buddhist monks on Thursday, after a rally dubbed a "peace protest" turned unexpectedly violent.

What is really good when cats who pledge to practice charity on all sentient beings are beating the snot out of eachother? Nobody got killed tho, which is a good indication of the level of ninjahood in Sri Lanka… not exceptionally high. I mean it didn’t even make the list in the rigorous google trends test that we conducted.

Some more moderate Buddhist monks, protesting for peace, were already on the stage when punches were thrown. Soon, monks’ robes and fists were flying, although no one was badly hurt, witnesses said.

"They were saying we should go to war," said pro-peace monk Madampawe Assagee. "We like to listen to other opinions so we let them do that but then they started fighting and we couldn’t control some of our people. They tried to make it a big fight but we settled it in a few minutes."
