BBC Four Light Fantastic was created with BBC Design and filmed at Artem’s studios in London. The ball of light involved an exciting day in the dark playing with alchemy and ancient mechanical devices. The globe is in fact a collection of gossamer-fine trails of fire, captured digitally using the 10-camera rig. Careful interpolation and post-production resulted in a 360-degree, 3D sphere of light, the final result being a magical marriage of science, art and technology.
