  1. Hello Miss Golonka (or is it Miss Freeman?)

as I may notice, the title “Dr.” means you maybe are the person I was looking for. Did you write a History of Art thesis about John Martin’s Illustrations of the Bible in 1961 at the Smith College, Massachussets?

I myself make a thesis about this very same work and the Smith College refuses to provide me a copy of your thesis (even though american thesis can be purchased for a sum that covers your copyrights, the photopocy, etc.).

I wanna congratulate you for the job you seem to have done with this work, even if I didn’t study it yet. I think it’s just sad that this subject wasn’t studied by more than you and I (if I don’t consider Michael J. Campbell and J. Dustin Wees’ catalogues and some of the Thomas Balston’s notes about it). I wish I could find an agreement with the Smith college that tells me today that I cannot obtain a copy of your thesis because it is now considered as an old and rare thesis.

Even if we don’t know each other, I have considerations for this work you did, because we both know that Martin’s ain’t an easy subject to study with his monumental production and rare sources in our days.

p.s.: if you want to write to me, here is my e-mail address: virgo_rosae@homail.com
If I mistook you with another person, all my apologies…

    Yours sincerely,
    Dany Larrivee,
