Grime Culture

Grime.JPG

This is a sick photo essay by Simon Wheatley, a photographer who tried to capture the pictoral essence of London’s Grime Culture, basically what he calls a British "reaction to American Hip Hop." Nice photographs- really well done. Can you spot the ninja in this photograph?

I know you’ve been wondering where ninjas of the future will chill…

Well Joe Nishizawa‘s got you covered. His photos are all 100% real places (yes, on this Earth). He takes photos in underground areas of Japan, and they are ridiculous. Breathtaking. Words just cannot describe them.

PingMag has a great article with him. Definitely check it out, because Nishizawa-san has a lot of extremely interesting stuff to say about being underground (strictly underground, ninjas and ninjettes) and photography in general. His site also has a few galleries of stunning images for us to revel in. Go peep.

Au Naturale, Ninja… That’s How We Roll…

wooden bikes

Bike style, that is. These bike frames from Xylon (and tell me that’s not a ninja name) are made almost entirely of wood.

From the Xylon site:

"Keeping the number of metal parts to the minimum, the frames are hand built to exacting specifications using state of the art adhesives, aeronautical grade plywood, and seasoned hardwoods each chosen for their natural beauty and mechanical properties. The result of this unprecedented attention to detail is manifested in each bicycle being unique."

Transforming SPAM to ART

Alex Dragulescu creates art from "data derived from databases, spam emails, blogs and video game assets." These are spam plants and this is spam architecture.

Organic Art: Federico Junca Acebedo

By now you should already know the deal with myninjaplease.com and the dopest contemporary art, but if you don’t the check out some of the art we continue to feature. Frederico Junca Acebedo is an artist currently residing in Miami Florida. His page features all sorts of eyecandy for the masses. Definitely give it a peep.

Here’s a statement by the man himself:

If i could put it into words there would be no reason to do it. When painting i allways wanted forms to develop in the same way that nature develops its magic, when you start a painting you stop thinking about the painting and art and all of that and then you begin to concentrate in emotions, passions, life, the expresiveness of colors, gestures, shapes and how they interact to absorb you…you step into the painting and get immersed in a whole new world in which the reality is felt rather than represented.
