I know I’m a bit behind on this… okay like… 6 months… but I posted this because I wanted to ask: doesn’t it look like these two are about to kiss?

Transtlantic Telectroscope

08009795_matthewandrews.jpg

London, England (CaymanMama.com) a€" CNN reported that a 3.3 meter tall and 11.2 meter long device termed as a€telectroscopea€™ has been completed on Thursday which allows people on two sides of the Atlantic to connect to each other through a person-sized lens. This was a dream of Alexander Stanhope St. George, a Victorian engineer more than 100 years ago.

The device has been developed by a British artist, Paul St. George, who is the great grandson of Alexander. The two ends of the telectroscope are connected via a trans-atlantic tunnel with an identical device at both the ends. One end is situated near Tower Bridge by Thames, London and the other end is by Brooklyn Bridge, New York on Fulton Ferry Landing. The trans-atlantic network is rounded off with HD cameras on both the ends.

St. George imagined the device around 5 years ago when he started to ponder how to start the project as it was about digging a tunnel to the two ends of the earth. He gave his idea to the Artichoke, a British group of arts, which immediately took the concept. When it was morning in London, it was still dark in New York, and all the Londoners could see was a frame of Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Skyline. But after some time, a streets cleaner and police officer walked towards the lens, stopped there and waved their hands. [LINK]

In other news, they put one of these joints in Fort Meyer’s beach and nobody seemed to notice it. Over a period of days, however, a distinct smudge in the shape of butt cheeks developed leaving the creators perplexed but nevertheless impressed by the waist-to-cheek ratio.

In your free time, you used to watch it, too

YouTube Preview ImageSince it’s memorial day and all, I figured, why not take a look back into the past a little bit? I dunno if this guy classifies as a veteran or not (bad joke) but he was certainly a childhood hero. Along with Jim the Hacksaw Duggan.

Come to think of it… that’s maybe a little bit sad.
