That said, Ciroc Obama is right, my ninjas! DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE! That’s what they want you to think - that it doesn’t matter if you vote. Expect them to make you stand in long ass lines, outside. Expect them to ‘run out of ballots’. Expect them to try to turn you away.

While many of you probably already saw this clip - either while watching the Emmy’s, or later online [I found it on the google video home page] - I thought it was kind of hilarious, and worth a post.

GZA - Knock, Knock

In honor of having seen GZA on Saturday night (who was, by the way, off the chains), I had to post this video.AA The Liquid Swords tour was off the hook, and it was ill to see Killah Priest, who is usually a shadeball (as in, I’ve never seen him with the Wu).AA Despite the late appearance and whatnot, GZA definitely rocked it.

Some of ya’ll may have heard about this, but apparently GZA has been clowning 50 cent on his tour.AA Wu and 50 cent have had beef since the 90’s but Wu refuses to address him on track.AA I don’t blame them either.AA Of course, 50 cent claims (and probably thinks) he’s a better rapper than GZA because he has more money.AA The old pretty-boy LL Cool J trap, if you ask me.AA He’s put out like 10 garbage songs about Wu since he became famous (for getting shot, let’s not forget).

Why do people associate making money with being a good rapper??

Lots of people have money and aren’t nice rappers.AA OPRAH has a lot of money…. um… Jerry Seinfeld…

I mean, you can like 50 cent because you’re poor and you wish you could be him, but when it comes to lyrical skills?AA 50 cent can’t even compete with those in his own weak crew, much less GZA.AA GZA was popular on the solo tip when 50 was like… 5…AA come on people.AA I bet the majority of 50’s fans never even heard of GZA.

And, that’s not because 50 is good… Rappers like GZA made it possible for a hack like 50 to exist in this mainstream climate, by popularizing rap and proving that it wasn’t one-dimensional.AA Yes, 50 has money…

Palin + Clinton = Hilarious

Saturday Night Live last night brought back Tina Fey to play Sarah Palin in the opening sketch - due to her kind-of frightening resemblance to the governor who’s unsure of what the Bush Doctrine is [does it depend on the definition of ‘is’ is or something Sarah? c’mon…].

Even if you’re not a fan of SNL [which I’m not, really], there are some pretty priceless quotes:

Clinton: I believe that diplomacy should be the cornerstone of any foreign policy…
Palin: And I can see Russia from my house!
Cliton: I believe global warming is caused by man…
Palin: And I believe it’s just God hugging us closer!

But the best one had to be :

Clinton: I’m sorry, I need to say something. I didn’t want a woman to be president - I wanted to be president, and I just happen to be a woman.

Cell Phone Anointing

Look, we here at MNP aren’t really trying to question people’s individual faith - but it involves Sarah Palin, GOP VP candidate, and I therefore feel that it’s fair game. So, God has chosen Alaska in particular to spread he message of Jesus to the world? And you can do it through a cell-phone? Really?

Which book of the bible is all this in? I must have missed it…

Regardless - my point here is that Sarah Palin is a religious fundamentalist, and should NOT be allowed to hold a high office in the United States government. Her being Christian [rather than everyone’s favorite scapegoat, Muslim] doesn’t make her less dangerous - it means she’ll attack our beliefs in science and freedom of speech [I’m sorry, but trying to ban books is Hitler-ish - not succeeding doesn’t get you off the hook]. And for all of you trying to take the high road, know this: fundamentalists CAN NOT distinguish between their religion and secular life. Her beliefs, and those of her church, will come into play.

I was only sort-of worried about McCain - but this shit right here is feckin’ frightening. We need to accept that McCain could kick-off at any point after being elected - and if he does, this woman will be running the show. Remember those red-phone, 3 AM ads from the Democratic primary? Well can we trust Palin not to use that phone to anoint citizens while rolling on the floor, speaking in tongues?
