BREAKING NEWS – Apparently the last time John McCain ran for president his relationship with a certain lobbyist raised some suspicions. Now 40 year old Vicki Iseman was seen around McCain so much that his advisors had to step in and end the relationship. Iseman was representing companies for whom McCain had provided favors for, in the form of letters to federal regulators.

The New York Times has the article.

Again, this isn’t something that is going to sink McCain, it’s just something he’s going to have to deal with in the long run. The long time party boy seems capable of the accused actions. Some people think that the details of his personal life (the relationships he’s had with strippers and hot lobbyists) are inconsequential but this was a lobbyist with clients for whom he did favors. That does not look good on your public service record. Ninjas should could just consider it about the character of a big-whig favor giving Washington pure-bred.

The response from McCain.

The Post also has a piece with more names and games.

Hillarious

Mark Penn’s next release. This is priceless:

Obama fails to win key demographics. Once again, Obama has not broken into the key demographic of voters who have been on a casino junket in the last thirty days. He also failed to win voters who had never heard of him, Wiccans, members of more than one bowling league, mourning dove hunters, white voters with “strongly negative” views of African Americans, and Vatican II-rejecting Catholics. These groups will only become more significant as the primary campaign shifts to Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

For those of you ninjas who don’t know, Mark Penn is Hillary’s campaign guru.

Obama x10

Just in case you ig’nant and haven’t heard the latest news on the election front I thought I’d help a ninja out with a recap of recent events. Last night Obama won his 9th and 10th consecutive contests, winning a primary in Wisconsin and a caucus in Hawaii. In Wisconsin Barack won big, with 58% of the vote compared to Hillary’s 41%. A margin of 17%! Just for a bit of perspective of what a trouncing that is: the only thing Republican front runner John McCain can do to foul his nomination is quit and he only beat Mike Huckabee by 18%. In Hawaii the results were far more ludicrous with Obama taking 76% of the vote to Hillary’s 24%. These victories ensure that Hillary will go the entire month of February without a victory. That is a long ass time in this kind of atmosphere, ninjas.

Obama now leads in total delegates with 1,319 to Hillary’s 1,245. His camp claims that she will have to win every race from here on out by more than 20 points to recover. Do Hillary’s supporters really think that after he beats her, any heat coming from the Republicans will be worse? I mean she’s hitting him with everything she’s got and she can’t even make a dent in his momentum. I think if he beats her it proves the ‘Republican attack machine’ can’t stop him either.

The hits just keep on coming for Hillary, who plans to attack Obama on not being ready for the Oval Office. Sister, who is?

Farewell, Fidel

fidel_castro.gif

Big news, my ninjas. This morning Fidel Castro announced that he will step down as the leader of the Cuban government.

Fidel, his brother, Raul, and everyone’s favorite socialist, Che Guevara, led a socialist revolution in Cuba in 1959 through a guerilla warfare campaign. The fact that he has sustained a socialist government just off the coast of the USA for the past 49 years is quite a feat. The US has boycotted trade with Cuba for decades. His critics far out-number his supporters, but those who understand his great social accomplishments can look past the negative aspects of his reign.

His brother Raul is expected to take over as President.

[I really want to write more about this guy, but my head feels like a balloon right now, damn the flu. You ninjas should read up on ol' Fidel as he is one of the most important figures in socialism and Latin American politics. VIVA LA REVOLUCION]

Krauthammer Conceeds

If only the Republicans understood that realism can coincide with hope.

Charles Krauthammer believes Obama’s on his way to the White House, despite his contempt for the Illionois Senator’s campaign.

Democrats are worried that the Obama spell will break between the time of his nomination and the time of the election, and deny them the White House. My guess is that he can maintain the spell just past Inauguration Day. After which will come the awakening. It will be rude.

Only time will tell, Charles, only time will tell.

Josh Marshall on Clinton

READ THIS

Campaigns are about winning votes not making excuses. There are plenty of delegates still out there for Clinton to win — over a thousand left in the remaining primaries. But her efforts are being stymied by a campaign apparatus rooted in the belief that any new reality can be overturned by pretending it away.

What a Day

Damn, ninjas. There’s only so much one man can do. Today has been loaded with important happenings in the realm of what we cover over here at MNP Politricks. There are still a few things that I have yet to comment on. The most important of these has to do with the GOP nominee. John McCain voted in favor of a bill that would defend US torture tactics yesterday even tough he was a POW and is vehemently opposed to torture. So why the flip? Well, now that McCain is the Republican nominee for President he has to try as hard as hell to appeal to the conservative base who has not yet completely accepted McCain as their candidate and will be essential in any hope of beating, hopefully, Obama. More commentary here and here.
