Monofin: Forget Michael Phelps

lunocet.jpg

You’d had to have been living under a rock for the last couple weeks to not have at least heard about Olympic swimming and Michael "I’m freakish and probably half dolphin" Phelps whooping everyone’s ass. Able to swim at about 5mph, Phelps put the competition to shame and is coming home with a record number of gold metals.

Pretty impressive, right? Only if you haven’t got yourself a Monofin! Designed by Lunocet, the Monofin weighs only 2.5 lbs out of water - and strapped to the feet of your average swimmer it can get the wearer up to 8 mph. So what’ll it be: lifetime of training, or carbon fiber flippers?

[All that said, real ninjas don’t need to swim fast, as they can run across the water’s surface. -Ed.]

[If Voyager had a Michael Phelps, they wouldn’t have been lost in the Delta Quadrant.AA They could just rustle up that motherfisher and have him open a wormhole and swim them right the funk home. -Ed.2]

  1. Man, I knew there was a secret to his winning. Forget speed – wormhole from one end of the pool to the other for the win.
