Dr. Milly Freeman Golonka

Continuing in the fine tradition of Friday art on www.myninjaplease.com…

"My paintings are expressionist, some are completely abstract, and some much more representational.AA My paintings often have surrealistic elements.AA Because they are paintings, all are inventions, and some can be grouped as ‘fantasy.'"

"My recent paintingsAAAAgroup mostlyAAin three types: woman (or women) series; still life; and environments. Because all my recent paintings are set in my own invented environments, types may overlap."

"The woman series is pretty much self-explanatory.AA They can be narrative, hinting of surrealism."

"My invented still life and environment series are based on real plant and flower forms, sometimes contrasting to geometric forms such as circle, semicircle, edge, line."

"I paint with acrylic on both canvas and fine art paper, such as Arches. The drawing on this site was made with colored markers."

  2. Hello,

my name is Dany and I’m a historian of arts. First of all, congratulations for your artworks. Those makes me the impression you would like to make a fauvism revival, which is interesting!

This message is to ask you something specific. I would like to know if you are the Milly Freeman Golonka I look for the last 2 years. I work about a british artist named John Martin (1789-1854) and an historian of arts named Milly Freeman Golonka wrote a thesis about him on 1961. I wonder if it is you.

If it’s the case, I would like to keep in touch in order to ask you some informations about your academic formation if I may.

Please, answer me back in order to continue my research. If you are not the Miss Golonka I’m looking for, please let me know.

I thank you in advance for all of this and have a nice day!

  3. Dr Milly,
I was just wandering around the net remembering old friends, and found an obituary for Johnna from a few years ago that listed you as her companion. Johnna and I spent MANY hours playing canasta when we were kids in Virginia. I was deeply saddened to hear of her passing.

  4. I am Anne Endres Idstrom and went to Atherton High School in Louisville, KY and we are working on our 55th high school reunion. I am hoping you are the Milly that I know. We had lost you. Would you please reply with your address, phone number and email address. Our reunion is going to be June 9, 2012 and one of our classmates is having a brunch at her home on June 10th. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
