This is the interior of one of the Doppler on Wheels mobile radar trucks — truly an incredible nerve-center of weather data acquisition and processing. Researcher Josh Barnwell sits in the hot-seat in this shot; the images on the screen are actually images from previous storm chases (and represent exactly the kind of data that Vortex 2 is looking for). The little "eyes of the hurricanes" you see on a couple of the screens are actually the radar picking up the "eye of the tornado", which has been dubbed the "tornado vortex" by scientists.
