Takafumi YAGI : "vermilion" is showing at the Megumi Ogita Gallery (5-4-14- 4F Ginza, Chuo-Ku, Tokyo)A10 -26 of June 2010. If you’re in Tokyo let us know how it is!

Takafumi YAGI was born in 1982 and now studies MA Sculpture Course at Musashino Art University. In the undergraduate's end year show, he presented his first sculpture made of color pencils "sky blue" that strongly impressed the visitors with its fresh and kaleidoscopic expression.AThe dozens of color pencils are fixed with resin and become just like a tree trunk so that YAGI is able to apply wood carving techniques on it. By sculpting the material, the color pencil cores appear and create various patterns according to the cuts.AFor the first solo exhibition "vermilion", YAGI challenges to make a chandelier that emits bright and warm textures. Showcase promises that "vermilion" would offer you an unique experience of the floods of colors and forms.
