The Impossible Project : Polaroid Film

Impossible GmbH, in cooperation withAPLR IP Holdings, has released re-engineered film for the once popular Polaroid style cameras.AGoing for $22 a pack of b/w, they go on sale this thursday- color packs will be available this summer.

Made up of up to a dozen parts to a layer, there are six major layers- mask, receiving sheet, developer, negative, rail and mash. The film looks blue when it comes out of the camera, instead of white like the old Polaroid film.

Instead of expiration dates-

The new packs will be marked with production dates. "It’s a little like a wine," says Kaps. "There is a lot of handwork; it’s slow production." Each vintage is unique and who can say when a wine is done for? You have to taste it.
