Tham & VidegA¥rd Hansson - House K
First and foremost - linear houses are great, and I wish I had one. That fact, combined with both the simplicity of the volume [its a box] and that scale-like siding has me drooling over Tham & VidegA¥rd Hansson Arkitekter’s [of Sweden] House K [located in Stocksund, North of Stockholm].
The 285 square meter house was completed in November of 2004 - with a structure constructed of site cast concrete, finished in white plaster and white ash [interior wood details, seen below].

Great Rap Albums (Round 2)
The Juggaknots - Clear Blue Skies re:release (2002, Third Earth)
I remember first hearing Clear Blue Skies after the re-release on Third Earth, and not knowing what exactly was happening. How could a record this ill have been unavailable for so long? Does this mean that all of the nicest hip-hop is on a shelf somewhere waiting to get a re-release? It seemed like the world as i knew it was crumbling down around me. I already knew the Brewin was a beast from Prince Among Thieves, but hearing him in the context of a regular LP (as opposed to a "hip-hopera") solidified it for me: dude is one of the nicest lyricists to pick up a mike, period.
Mayor Daley’s Spanish No Parking Signs
Chicago Taxpayers are paying for No Parking signs printed in the Spanish Language. Mayor Daley knows these fine people are fined for any minor infraction they commit. Daley targets these people for votes and taxes. I am suggesting Stupido Daley print signs in every language. If you notice, Daley "forgets" to print his name on any Revenue trucks or signs. Classy, right Amigo?

Real Time With Bill Maher: Cornel West, Mos Def & Ralph Nader
Topics including Iraq, terrorism (Islamic, American and otherwise), Obama/Clinton, the Jena Six, OJ Simpson, the Boogie Man…
Bill: [On Islamic terrorists] You have to admit there are certain people who do want to kill Americans.
Mos: Yeah, uh, some of them are called The Police…

Mos: This is not about the Muslim or the Christian…the division of the Democrat/Republican, Muslim/Christian, uhhh, Autobot/Decepticon, Crypt/Blood, black/white: it’s all bullshit, because the bottom line is that Islam is not the threat; it’s not a problem.

Bill: [to Nader, on being a consumer advocate] Ralph, you’re bringing sexy back.
Ralph: [On his new book] There are at least three reasons why if my mother raised George W. Bush, we wouldn’t be in Iraq. One: she would have taught him history. Two: critical thinking. And three: how to listen.

Cornel: Truth lies prostrate on rugged heels with nameless cavalries. And what I mean is, it’s hard to find a space for truth, and it’s hard for truth to be a species of the good to have impact, in the face of corruption, mendacity, mediocrity and shortsightedness. So truth has to lie prostrate, which means we have to reveal it in its nekidness, even if that nekidness seems to be connected to a lack of power…
Bill: Let’s get the truth nekid right here on this table.

Bill: [New Rule] Sorry Mr. President, but slinking into somewhere unannounced and under cover of night isn’t an ass whooping; it’s a booty call.
Thanks to Kelena for the tip on this one!

"What do flamboyantly dressed musicians have against the internet?"
Robert Starvation from re-generator is killin’ us with this hilarious post:

First it was Elton John with his cockamamie suggestion the Internet be shut down. Now, the likewise foppish Prince is threatening to sue YouTube, eBay and the Pirate Bay because he wants to a€oereclaim the internet.a€A
As a means of explaining away the full fruition of his Napoleon complex, Prince is offering this priceless gem: a€oeWe have to build a 21st century model for the entertainment industry.a€A Ita€™s true, the entertainment industry does, but Prince is using the same tactics that got the major labels in so much troatuble. a€oeSue everyonea€A still isna€™t a visionary business model for the 21st century.
Prince needs to go back to masturbating his custom-made guitar and leave the heavyweight thinking to a radical and pioneering artist like The Artist Formerly Known as Prince. -Robert Starvation
Check out re-generator
Or you could just watch this:

Ok, that’s silly, I admit… but I saw a woman walking through Copley Plaza in Boston dressed like she should have been at this parade… sooo, that combined with the Prince song….
Sex!… It’s not that type of partayy - Prince (from the scene)

Google’s Lunar Challenge
Google Inc. is bankrolling a $30 million contest that could significantly boost the commercial space industry and spur the first non-governmental flight to the moon.
Call it Moon 2.0. The bulk of the prize will go to the first private company that can land a robotic rover on the moon and beam back a gigabyte of images and video to Earth, the Internet search leader said Thursday.Google partnered with the X Prize Foundation for the moon challenge, which is open to companies around the world. The Santa Monica-based nonprofit prize institute is best known for hosting the Ansari X Prize contest, which led to the first manned private spaceflight in 2004.
The race to the moon won’t be easy or cheap. But whoever fills the requirements in the Google contest by the end of 2012 gets $20 million.
The winning spacecraft must be tough enough to survive a landing and be equipped with high-definition video and still cameras. And it must be smart enough to trek at least 1,312 feet on the moon and send self-portraits, panoramic views and near-real-time videos back to Earth that will be streamed on Google’s Web site.
