Hype Machine

Hype Machine looks at a ton of mp3 blogs and pulls them all into one monster playlist. Ita€™s like listening to the iPod shuffle that the zeitgeist carries around in his pocket. You can get the songs as a podcast, or as an m3u playlist in iTunes, Winamp, Realplayer, etc.

"Ghosting Vs. Plowing: Dare To Compare"

plow1.jpg

FOX News has recently labelled "Fence Plowing" as the "new internet trend sweeping Youtube". Apparently a trend only needs 14 videos to be classifed as a Youtube phenomenon. We here at GRTWB believe that there’s only enough room on the internet for either Ghost Riding or Fence Plowing. The choice is clear.

SAN FRANCISCO, March 8 a€" A new company founded by a longtime technologist is setting out to create a vast public database intended to be read by computers rather than people, paving the way for a more automated Internet in which machines will routinely share information.

The company, Metaweb Technologies, is led by Danny Hillis, whose background includes a stint at Walt Disney Imagineering and who has long championed the idea of intelligent machines.

He says his latest effort, to be announced Friday, will help develop a realm frequently described as the a€oesemantic Weba€A a€" a set of services that will give rise to software agents that automate many functions now performed manually in front of a Web browser.

The idea of a centralized database storing all of the worlda€™s digital information is a fundamental shift away from todaya€™s World Wide Web, which is akin to a library of linked digital documents stored separately on millions of computers where search engines serve as the equivalent of a card catalog.

Help us, Obi Wan!

harrietmiers.jpgpalpatine_02.jpg

Well, we’re gonna have to give a big shoutout to mnp on-scene correspondent, Mickie Smalls for pointing out "astounding similarities" between Harriet Miers and Emperor Palpatine. The only difference between the two is that Palpatine was (reportedly) significantly more qualified to do the job at the time of his nomination and subsequent appointment. I think this requires an immediate senate special investigation committee.

Once again, props to Mickie Smalls, for doing the groundwork and keeping the earth, no, the GALAXY safe for ninjas everywhere. If you would like to submit your links, or bring anything to our attention, e-mail suggest@myninjaplease.com.
