British Library Calls for Copyright Reform

The Brit national library system is calling for a reform of national copyright law.AA Oh, wait, you just read that in the headline.

Library20books.jpgAA(they shoulda never gave you ninjas copyrights!)

They say the issue is that current digital copyright law, such as DRM, does not preserve the interest of the library or of the public in the sharing of information.AA They say that DRM, unlike regular copyright laws, does not include language that describes the ability of the library to use such content.

Unless there is a serious updating of copyright law to recognize the changing technological environment, the law becomes an ass.

-Lynne Brindley, CEO, British Library

Ninjas everywhere are already breaking copyright laws indiscriminantly.AA We here at the pagoda in the woods definitely endorse a reform of copyright laws, but alsoAAfeel inclined to comment that we don’t necessarily give a ****.

The Turtle Whisperer

As Advertised.

koopa2.jpg

This is quiteAAthe strange video, but, ladies and gentlemen, it gets stranger still.AA Yes, going to the website advertised in the video you find that this turtle is not just the molested pet of the slightly insane turtle whisperer, but is also an artist of prolific proportions.AA In fact, the turtle’s art hangs in 49 of our 50 beautiful states.

Wow.AA It’s magical.
Check out some of the script from the page:

Koopa has been raised in a trusting, tank-free environment and he paints under the close supervision of a turtle expert.AA We do not recommend anyone attempt to use their turtles to paint.AA What is safe for Koopa is not necessarily safe for other turtles or tortoises.AA We consider all copycat attempts to be unsafe as well as disrespectful to us as established individual artists.

Is this supposed to be as funny as it is?AA
