My Ninja, Please! 10/27/06: My ninja! Enough said

This story is the perfect example of an important concept that anyone will discover after spending enough time in the dojo: do not judge a book by it’s cover - often times those who look least threatening are the most dangerous…

In this case, our protagonist is an unassuming 70-year-old grandfather named Douglas O’Dell who was jumped by four teenagers. Bad move kids. Turns out this senior citizen is ex-British special forces - aka - the hooligans got one hell of a beating:

"Bad move," said Douglas. "The only part he got right was grandad. If you’re gonna grab someone from behind take their arms and pin them to their waist.

"This joker, I was able to grab his elbow, crouch down and throw him over my shoulder. He landed on his back on a fence and squealed like a stuck pig."

Mr. O’Dell, we grant thee ninja status (not like you needed recognition from us) and formally invite you to stop by the myninjaplease dojo next time you are on this side of the Atlantic.

Snipes on the Run: Part 2

Last we heard the Grand Master himself was snapped in Namibia, a country without an extradition treaty with the U.S.

Here’s the pic:

Of course we can’t actually confirm that it’s him, but if it is, we certainly don’t condone his brazen non-use of disguise. Maybe it’s the post-op photo. Face… offff.

The next bright light Snipes faces, of course, might be that of U.S. marshals seeking his arrest, as he is wanted here on charges of tax fraud. Joanne Reay, one of the producers of "Gallowwalker," the film on which Snipes is working in Nambia, told the Associated Press today, "As far as we understand, Wesley is not going to be arrested in Namibia." What’s more, Snipes is expected to stay in Namibia until December.

According to Reay, Snipes is not staying at the same luxurious lodge at which Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stayed when Jolie was pregnant and gave birth to their daughter Shiloh Nouvel this summer.

Well that’s certainly a relief.

GNH (Gross National Happiness)

fact: "Bhutan was the last nation in the world to introduce television in 1999. Recently they banned a number of channels including international wrestling and MTV, which they felt did little to promote happiness."

And Another One [Kofi]

Jay-Z is tricking the tricksters! He’s out of retirement, has his #45 album coming out, debuted his new music video on Monday Night football with Danika and friends andddddd hes now the "co-brand director" of Bud Select of Anheuser-Busch.

"Jay-Z also will be involved in providing direction on other upcoming Budweiser Select television ads, radio spots, print campaigns and several high-profile events."

It’s not that simple though, Jay is also allies with Coke who is in the midst of a high-profile campaign across the board on peer-to-peer networks. If you can’t make money selling records, get sponsored and give it to people for free!

If you are unsure why this is all relevant, please consult this Rhymepays encyclopedia.

[Ed. it should be interesting when Jaz-O drops the truth!- you’re getting paid off it or youre not!]

Dennis Green is HEATED!

And I can’t say I blame this ninja.  If you look at the loss the cardinals suffered the other night, having had a 20 points plus lead on the only undefeated team in the NFL… and pissing it away on Monday night football, the height of football passion. Basically, the Bears came back from what should have been an impossible deficit.  Coach Green had some very savory things to say in the post-game conference.  Watch how he walks away at the end!  Click the pic to see the youtube vid.

Warning, not for the little ones.

People That Might or Might Not Be Ninjas Part Deux: Plain Plane-Spotting

Don’t get me wrong, this guy’s no Vanilla Ice.

He only identifies himself as "Ray."AA Ray spends his time on true ninja fare: the tracking of secret CIA airplanes in the hinterlands of Cali.AA He tracks them with sophisticated radar equipment and possibly the most technologically advanced devices known to man… ahem… binoculars.AA Anyway, he may or may not be a ninja.AA Too bad we don’t have a full frontal, for you can usually tell by the nipples (like in Chinese Connection).

From Village Voice Full Story:

Ray is a planespotter?a person obsessed with almost everything having to do with aviation. As a hobby, Ray tracks airplanes, logs their serial numbers and movements, analyzes their radio systems, and keeps detailed records of the frequencies and designs that their systems use. He tries to understand how aviation systems work, how planes communicate with the ground controllers and with each other, and how the military and the Federal Aviation Administration manage various kinds of airspace. On this mild spring day, Ray’s testing a new piece of gear: a Kinetic Avionics SBS-1, a "virtual radar" system. Attached to his laptop with a USB cable, the system allows him to watch air traffic within a forty- or fifty-mile radius and to log call signs and basic information about the planes.

AAThis got tagged hood status because spying on the CIA is definitely for hood ninjas and thorough cats.
